Boroughbridge – 21st June 2011

Twelve riders met under grey skies for tonight’s run to Boroughbridge. The ride began on a happy note with Duncan announcing that he’s going to be a dad!
Good group riding through Burn Bridge and up Drury Lane to the bypass and on down the road to Kirkby Overblow. Swept on over the ridge through Sicklinghall and Linton where Darrell hit a pothole hard but gladly survived with only his water bottle abandoning ship. From Wetherby we lined up for a ‘through-and-off’ session to the roundabout at Boroughbridge. The entire group managed to stay together for the full distance as we circled the roundabout keeping in formation, albeit at a slightly easier pace for the run back to the Marton turnoff.
Spun back into Knaresborough by way of Ferensby and Farnham for the inevitable sprint up the hill back into Harrogate. Podium places for Matthew, Darrell and Malcolm. Another splendid Cappuccino outing made better by the fact that we all stayed dry.

The Cappuccino Cycling Club is a group of friends from Harrogate who enjoy cycling in a relaxed way, that normally entails stopping for a coffee somewhere along the way. Ride distances are from 25miles upwards with some members taking part in local sportive events in the Yorkshire area.
