Brimham Rocks – 16th June 2011

I think there were about 12 of us tonight but I forgot to count. Sorry.

Anyway Martin’s mate Nick (who beat us all on track day) joined us along with Chris (“Retro Rocket”) Morrison freshly back from 450 miles of riding in Scotland.

We set off to do Hartwith Bank and Brimham Rocks and headed out via Harlow Moor Rd, Birstwith and then the fast descent into Darley where we narrowly avoided a collision with a lunatic in a 4×4. It turned out that Nick, Chris, and Rob had never done Hartwith Bank before and therefore had no idea of the pain that awaited them. Annoyingly both Nick and Chris lead the way from start to finish despite not knowing how long and steep the hill is. Oh well – ignorance is bliss.

After Hartwith we rode over Brimham Rocks and turned left to enjoy the fast paced swooping road down to Bishop Thornton. After that it was back via Ripley, Knox Mill Lane and a recovery pint in The Swan on the Stray. Which was nice.
My total ride was 41 miles at 15.3 av.
