Wetherby – 19th April 2011

7 of us including new rider Nick (welcome) set off out to do a Wetherby run with a bit extra added on.

We set out via Pannal Golf Club (Drury Lane) and then into Kirkby Overblow and the Netherby hill, Sicklinghall, Wetherby and then changed the normal route and headed up the A168 towards Boroughbridge in order to do a bit of 2 by 2 thru n’ off practice. This also had the effect of bumping up the average speed somewhat. Everyone had a good turn at the front including Nick who professed to being new to close group riding.

We then turned off at Arkendale and then turned left onto the main road into Knaresborough which inevitabley led us onto the final customary charge up Knaresborough Hill (Malcolm took the honours) and then home. A thoroughly enjoyable brisk paced ride on a dry clear night. Approx 30 miles and my computer claimed an average mph somewhere in the 16’s – so quite quick.
